Well Pumps
A well pump is a device that draws water from a well and pushes or pulls it into a well pressure tank.
There are two types of well pumps, Jet, and Submersible.
Jet pump vs Submersible pump
Submersible Pump
Most homes are serviced by a submersible pump as they are more efficient than a jet pump. It is submerged and turns on when the water in your pressure tank has been depleted.
Jet Pump
Jet Pumps are not as efficient and are more difficult to service. They do need to be primed (removing the air). Therefore, most of our customers choose to replace them with submersible pumps as they are maintenance free.
Signs of a problem with the pump – no water, inconsistent (often low) pressure, sputtering faucets, dirty water.
